National Action for an Arms Embargo takes place in Hampshire on Tuesday

People from across Hampshire and beyond will be gathering for a National Action for an Arms Embargo event at the Lockheed Martin site in Havant on Tuesday (17 June).

Lockheed Martin states on its website that it has supplied parts for Israel’s F-35 fighter jets and C-130 aircraft since the 1970s and 1980s.

The website celebrates Lockheed Martin’s ‘partnership’ with Israel, stating “partnership is about securing Israel’s national interests while strengthening it from within.” They state that their collaboration with Israel industries is expected to exceed $6 billion.

Protesters are calling for an end to all trade and transfer of weapons to Israel.

PSC has stated: “We demand the British government stop arming Israel, and call for an immediate end to the genocide, and no wider war.”

Since the current onslaught by Israel against Gaza began in October 2023, more than 55,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed, with women and children making up more than half of that total. The United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel has stated “Israel has perpetrated a concerted policy to destroy Gaza’s healthcare system as part of a broader assault on Gaza, committing war crimes and the crime against humanity of extermination with relentless and deliberate attacks on medical personnel and facilities.”

Palestine Solidarity Campaign has organised a National Action for an Arms Embargo at the Lockheed Martin site in Havant.

People are expected to travel from across the south to support the event, gathering at 11.00am at Havant Park.
