Fans of comedic theatre are invited to celebrate the season with a high-energy, feel-good adaptation of the Shakespeare classic, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 16 July.

The story tells of four lovers who run away to the countryside where mysterious woodland creatures play tricks on them with hilarious consequences – and when a troupe of amateur actors rehearse in the woods the fairies intervene leading to a bizarre and outrageous comedy suitable for all ages.

This magical show is brought to the stage by returning theatre company, Oddsocks Productions. Formed in 1989 by a husband and wife team who combined their classical acting skills with clowning, Oddsocks has become one of the UK’s best-loved touring theatre companies and one that believes every person has the right to access and enjoy theatre.

The adaptation is performed in the company’s trademark funny style with live music and action.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 16 July at 7pm. Recommended age: 7 – 107! For more information, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
