Play to the Crowd is pleased to announce that more local businesses have come forward to support the charity’s incredible summer 2025 giveaway.
Kyoto Kitchen and Bangkok Bistro, both in the centre of Winchester, are the latest businesses to offer special experiences in the latest prize draw launched by the arts and education charity that runs Theatre Royal Winchester, Hat Fair and Playmakers.
Kyoto Kitchen – the highly-regarded Japanese restaurant on Bridge Street – has donated the luxurious Omakase Chef’s Table Experience for 2 – a world-class experience where two people get the chance to watch the restaurant’s head chef, Shintaro Ito, prepare their party an exquisite multi-course dinner featuring the best seasonal ingredients.
While Bangkok Bistro on Jewry Street, which specialises in authentic and regional Thai cuisine, has gifted the chance for four people to indulge in the delicious Bangkok Banquet for 4 – a multi-course meal skilfully prepared by the restaurant’s experienced chefs. This prize includes a complimentary bottle of Monsoon Valley Signature Wine.
Entrants into the prize draw also have the chance to win the top prize of a luxury holiday to Malta. This exclusive prize includes five nights bed and breakfast for two people at the AX Odycy Malta – a stylish 4-star hotel with stunning sea views – with return flights included.
The prize is courtesy of Kuoni Travel – with a branch on Winchester High Street – who this year renewed their support of Play to the Crowd as the charity’s Strategic Partner of Hat Fair 2025. The travel company donated the holiday as part of a new one-year agreement, with the kind association of Maltese hotel company, AX Hotels.
Other local businesses who donated prizes include Meon Valley Shepherd Huts – with a cosy countryside retreat, Winchester Royal Hotel on St. Peter’s Street – with a relaxing overnight stay, Haringtons Hairdressing on The Square –a luxury cut and finish, and Hotel Chocolat – with a store on Winchester High Street – with an irresistible gift set.
Play to the Crowd’s Crowdfunder UK Prize Draw is still live and people can enter online, where there is more information as well as terms and conditions. The prize draw closes on Thursday 11 September 2025 at 15:00 BST, and every entry into the prize draw helps to raise vital funds for Play to the Crowd’s charity work and mission to bring live theatre, outdoor arts and year-round creative activity to the city’s stage, streets and wider communities.
By supporting the prize draw, entrants back the charity’s mission and work to bring people together through live performance and creative activity; and fight for creative opportunities in schools and the wider community – to help tackle social isolation, loneliness, and poor mental health; and ensure that culture is accessible to all.
Becca Moore, Fundraising Manager, says: “We’re delighted and so grateful that more local businesses are backing our summer prize draw. Prizes like these make it great fun to enter and every ticket sold raises vital funds to keep Winchester a brilliant place to live, work and visit. We all need to pull together to keep creativity at the heart of our city – so get involved and please support the draw if you can.
“You’ve got to be in it, to win it!”
