Southampton homes showcase energy, water and money saving upgrades in action

Wondering about future-proofing your home? What is the reality of the various options available?

Organised by Transition Southampton, Green Open Homes Week sees householders in Southampton open up for visitors at bookable times between Saturday 13th to Sunday 21st September. Visitors can browse the homes directory and book their visits at greenopenhomes.org

Co-organiser Mark Hancock said, “Enabling residents to see for themselves what can be done to improve and future-proof ordinary homes is a fantastic way to engage people, spread knowledge across our communities, and inspire personal efforts and change.”

Visitors will be able to see low-cost energy improvements, water saving ideas, wildlife-friendly gardens, lifestyle changes and vegetable growing as well as find out what it’s like to have a heat pump or solar panels.
