Children can delight in the return of The Gruffalo’s Child, which comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October.
The Gruffalo’s Child follows the beloved creature’s adventure into the deep, dark wood after she ignores her father’s warnings about the Big Bad Mouse. Tiptoeing into the wood one wild and windy night, following snowy tracks and encountering mysterious creatures, she believes that the Big Bad Mouse doesn’t exist… Or does he?
This enchanting adaptation of the award-winning picture book by popular children’s author and illustrator team, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, is packed with songs, laughter and scary fun suitable for ages 3+.It is presented by the children’s theatre company, Tall Stories, whose other productions include adaptations of The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, The Elmer Adventure, and for older audiences – The Canterville Ghost.
Audiences are invited to let their imaginations run wild with this five-star, ‘warm, witty and beautifully made’ show that has been described as ‘perfect children’s entertainment’.
On Sunday 26 October, there will be a Touch Tour (from 10am) and Relaxed performance (at 11am) – touch tours allow audience members to visit the set and feel the props to familiarise themselves before the show; while a relaxed performance is open to everyone but specially designed to provide a supportive environment for children and adults with learning difficulties, special needs or autism. A chill-out area will also be available for anyone who needs to take time out from the performance.
