Limited tickets remain for An Evening with John Illsley about the Life and Times of Dire Straits – an evening of music and conversation with the musician – at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 24 October.
An Evening with features founder member and bass player of the legendary rock band, John Illsley, sharing classics from Dire Straits’ back catalogue such as Money for Nothing and Sultans of Swing, plus stories about the band’s career, during which time they sold over 120 million albums, making Dire Straits one of the biggest rock and roll bands of all time.
The evening will feature a Q&A led by Paul Cummins (ex Dire Straits management) – who will ask questions and during which John will reveal the story of the development of the band – from humble beginnings in a council flat in South London to playing around the world to millions of fans, making albums from London to New York, and performing and working with some of the world’s most influential musicians and producers.
John will be joined on stage by fellow musicians from his own band – who will play music from the whole Dire Straits’ catalogue.
