Contemporary dance audiences can enjoy the high-energy dance theatre show, VENUS 2.0, which comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Tuesday 11 November.
VENUS 2.0 tells the true story of Mary Richardson – who went from suffragette who vandalised a painting at the National Gallery in protest against the treatment of women in the suffrage movement to a leading figure in the British Union of Fascists.
Blending cabaret and dance theatre, VENUS 2.0 transports audiences through the evolution of facism, while exploring the chaos and contradictions of the early 20th century and has been described by Stage talk magazine as ‘deliriously ambitious’ and ‘brilliantly bonkers’.
VENUS 2.0 is brought to the stage by IMPERMANENCE – an award-winning dance company with a decade’s experience creating ground-breaking dance for theatre, cabaret, festivals and site-specific productions; shows that tour nationally and internationally, enjoying critical acclaim. VENUS 2.0 is performed by six chameleonic dancers.
Following the performance there will be a post-show chat.
VENUS 2.0 will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Tuesday 11 November at 7.30pm.Recommended age: 12+. For more information, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
