Mayflower Southampton’s produced show, Counting Down to Christmas, is back this festive season in Studio 2 at Mayflower Studios from Friday 5 to Wednesday 24 December 2025.
It’s nearly Christmas, but Ebbie doesn’t care. They’re far too busy to bother with decorations, Christmas shopping is such a fuss, and they don’t even like mince pies!
But when a mysterious envelope is posted through Ebbie’s letterbox, it’s the start of a series of events that will change how Ebbie feels about Christmas forever.
With original music, colourful design and sensory elements, Counting Down to Christmas is a show made especially for very young audiences, full of surprises and festive magic.
Joining the 2025 cast, playing Bob, is Dhruv Ravi – an American South-Asian actor/director/producer, with Anna Harriot returning as Ebbie – for her fourth Christmas season at Mayflower Studios, having been part of the original devising team behind Counting Down to Christmas. Anna is Co-Director of Stories in the Dust, a theatre company dedicated to creating high-quality, environmentally engaged work for young audiences and families.
The company’s touring production of the same name has been performed nationally since 2022, alongside an outreach programme developed in partnership with the Applied Environmental Science Department at the University of Southampton. Alongside this, the company delivers a Creative Health programme, bringing specially adapted performances to hospital and care settings. Stage credits include Cinderella’s Wellies (The Point, Eastleigh, 2024–25), Counting Down to Christmas, Down the Rabbit Hole, and Second Star to the Right (Mayflower Studios, 2020–2023), Stories in the Dust (2022–present), Lily & the Albatross and Shackleton (Tall Tree Theatre, 2017–2020), as well as multiple seasonal co-productions with Bumblefly Theatre and Forest Forge Theatre (2016–2020).
