Hailing from Colchester, Pet Needs were formed in 2016 by brothers Johnny (vocals) and George Marriott (guitar).
With idiosyncratic songs about chance encounters, chaos, identity, and self-destruction, the band have quickly amassed a dedicated fanbase – earning praise and plays from Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music, John Kennedy on Radio X, Total Rock, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, Kerrang Radio and more in the process.
Releasing two EPs early on, ‘As Kites Fly by Pylons’ and ‘Everything But Your Balance’, the band were rapidly signed-up to established indie label Xtra Mile Recordings for the release of their debut full-length album, ‘Fractured Party Music’, a record that was mixed and mastered by Frank Turner. Hot on its heels, in 2022 the band released ‘Primetime Entertainment’, which saw Turner returning for production duties.
Whirlwind tours of the UK, Europe and the USA would pave the way for their sensational third album, ‘Intermittent Fast Living’, in February 2024 – a record that would see them break new ground and into the UK Official Top 20 for the first time.
After another busy year that has seen them release their Mike West-produced ‘Kind Of Acoustic’ album, embark on a run of special acoustic shows in January and February, plus play three special Fractured Party IV shows (with support from Sonic Boom Six, Shed and Pageant Mum, and Generation Feral) which culminated with a Sold Out Garage show in London in May; Pet Needs are now rounding it all off with a spate of unmissable shows across the UK this winter, with a date at Southampton’s 1865 on December 4th. Final tickets on sale now.
