Scottish music legends The Proclaimers have announced a string of major 2026 live dates across the UK, beginning with a series of theatre shows in June & July before embarking on an extensive UK tour throughout October and November, bringing them to Portsmouth Guildhall on November 12th.
Craig & Charlie Reid’s first UK dates since their 2022-2023 Dentures Out tour – which saw the pair play 96 shows to a total audience of over 500,000 people – will accompany The Proclaimers’ as-yet-untitled 13th studio album, set for release in spring 2026. Tickets for all shows go on- sale 10am tomorrow, Friday November 28th.
With a legacy spanning over three decades and inspiring the hit musical and film Sunshine On Leith, The Proclaimers’ live shows are celebrated for their energy, passion, and big-hearted, uncynical songs. Craig and Charlie will perform all their classic hits, including “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”, “Letter from America” and, of course, “Sunshine on Leith”, alongside tracks from their forthcoming album.
The Reid twins broke through aged 25 with their 1987 debut album This Is The Story and Top 3 single “Letter from America”, and since then their enduring appeal across generations has seen them enjoy continued success across the globe. Earlier this year, Coldplay performed “Sunshine on Leith” with Laura Mvula on BBC Radio 2’s The Piano Room, with Chris Martin commenting; “There is a whole other world of music behind that song that I’ve just been discovering, and they’re a wonderful, wonderful band. Now we live in the age of coolness that doesn’t mean anything, it’s just quality and soul. The Proclaimers make more sense than ever.”
The Proclaimers have carved out a niche for themselves in the netherworld where pop, folk, new wave and punk collide. In the process, they have enjoyed gold and platinum singles and albums in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Their songs are timeless, capturing a gamut of human emotions, written with poignancy, emotional honesty, political fire and wit. They feature at weddings, funerals and everything in-between and there is one song, an early celebration of falling head over heels in love that is known the world over and has become a global anthem. There are many others that have gained great popularity in different parts of the planet and then there is a wide cross section of sublime songs embraced by a multitude that has kept up with The Proclaimers’ studio albums, compilation collections and extensive touring for almost four decades.
Tickets on sale from 10am tomorrow, Friday 28th November.
