This year’s traditional family pantomime at Theatre Royal Winchester, Puss in Boots, has been nominated for five awards.
Puss in Boots has been nominated in five categories in the Fringe Theatre Awards – with actors Bekah Selina – who plays Puss – and Julian Eardley – Dame Dolly Duster – each nominated for the performance award. Writer and director, Robin Belfield, is nominated in the writing / devising category; composer, Simon Slater, and musical director, Will Pickering, for music; and Theatre Royal Winchester nominated for production.
The pantomime has been praised by audiences and reviewers alike for being a lot of fun, packed with great storytelling, original songs, and audience participation – with the team behind the production delighted that Puss in Boots has been recognised for five awards.
Communications and Development Director, Kirstie Mathieson, said: “We are thrilled to learn that our pantomime at Theatre Royal Winchester, Puss in Boots, has been nominated in five award categories in the Fringe Theatre Awards.
“Our cast, creative team, community ensemble, and team work incredibly hard to produce our traditional family panto each year. It’s wonderful that their hard work and dedication has been recognised by these awards.
“We look forward to learning whether we are in the finals in the spring! Good luck to all the nominees.”

The award finalists will be announced in April, with the Fringe Theatre Awards ceremony taking place in May next year.
