A selection of flags of different nationalities alongside the Progress Pride flag have been erected on lampposts in a Southampton district.
The flags appeared in Bitterne Park Triangle on December 14th in what appears to be a celebration of diversity and inclusion.
The flags include ones from Hungary, Ukraine, Taiwan and Jamaica and have received a positive response from locals.
One person on Facebook reported seeing the flags being put up. He said: “Just been sat in the Butchers Hook watching 2 lads putting up flags all round Bitterne Triangle. So far it’s the pride flag , Hungary ,Taiwan, Jamaica and Ukraine. Got to love Bitterne Park!
“I actually feel an enormous wave of pride at this moment.”

Another comment said: “The tide is turning.”
Boris Dibnah, who runs Bitterne Park Stores and the Bitterne Box Company, told In Common: “I love the flags. They bring a smile to my face every time I arrive at the Triangle.
“When the other flags have been so divisive, it’s lovely to see a symbol of inclusivity at Christmas.
“It reassures me a little and reminds me why I love the Triangle!”
Visitors to the Christmas in the Triangle event, taking place from 1pm today (Saturday 20th December) will be able to see the flags for themselves, alongside family fun, independent traders, live music and more.
