Lordshill Road Runners, a community running group based in Southampton, have raised almost £900 for local charity Yellow Door, helping to support people affected by domestic and sexual abuse.
The group first fundraised for the charity in September, when members took part in a 10k run in aid of several local causes. The event raised £763 was donated to Yellow Door to support its vital services.
The fundraising continued with a festive twist on Sunday 21st December, when they hosted a Christmas-themed “Paarlauf” event at Southampton Athletics Track. Runners were randomly paired up and challenged to complete 20 laps of the track, working together to achieve the best combined result.
The event included prizes for the top two runners as well as for the best fancy dress, adding to the fun and seasonal atmosphere. An additional £105 was raised on the day for Yellow Door.

Libby from Yellow Door attended the event to meet the runners and accept a cheque on behalf of the charity. The group chose Yellow Door as their Charity of the Year 2024-2025, donating any of their profits to the charity.
Lordshill Road Runners continue to demonstrate how local sports clubs can make a meaningful difference in their community, combining fitness, friendship and fundraising for important local causes. If you would like to join the running group, please see their website lordshillroadrunners.org.uk
