Local alt electronic duo Someday, Sky back with new single and local date

By Darren Grayer.

Local alternative electronic duo, Someday,Sky, were formed by producer/singer Frankie Knight and DJ/drummer Submyth ( Robert Swain).

They released their second single earlier last month. Titled Sweet Mother, it’s an empowering and atmospheric piece that spans genres and fuses grime, dubstep and shimmering electronica. Driven by lush, emotive vocals, it reimagines the archetype of the mother as both fierce protector and visionary force- a symbol of strength and connection in a fractured world.

“Sweet Mother is our ode to feminine power-not as passive or ornamental, but as elemental and transformative,” they say.

“It’s about re-enchantment and remembering that care and resilience are radical acts. In a culture that often straightjackets women into narrow roles. This song imagines a wider, freer way of being”

This latest single is a follow up to World In Motion, released earlier in the year, it drew critical acclaim and featured on both Radio Sussex and Surrey and Radio Solent.

Someday, Sky describe themselves as rooted in a deep reverence for the natural world. Their sound blends electronica with UK dance influences and features collaborations spanning music, poetry, and visual art. Together, these elements create immersive experiences that celebrate connection—to Earth, to each other, and to the unseen forces that shape us.

Their live appearances have seen them perform alongside Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Kosheen, and Hollie Cook. You can catch them at Heartbreakers Bar on February 7th with London based artist Paige Kennedy.
