Fans of Shakespeare are invited to a full-scale production of the playwright’s greatest love story when Romeo and Juliet comes to Theatre Royal Winchester from Monday 9 February.
Romeo and Juliet is set in Verdona where two young lovers are torn between their loyalty to their families and their desire for one another. As a deadly feud between their families – the Montagues and Capulets – rages on, the star-crossed lovers choose to risk everything to be together but they meet a tragic end.
Romeo and Juliet is brought to the stage by The National Production Company – a theatre company that brings Shakespeare’s works to life as well as producing workshops and shows for families and schools by working with Horrible Histories author, Terry Deary. The company’s previous productions include Macbeth and Hamlet.
In Romeo and Juliet, audiences should expect a show packed with breath-taking intensity, fierce sword fights, emotion and romance.
Romeo and Juliet will be at Theatre Royal Winchester from Monday 9– Wednesday 11 February at 7pm each evening and at 1.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. Recommended age: 11+. For more information, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
