Spring half-term family fun at Theatre Royal Winchester

Family audiences are welcome to enjoy a range of shows at Theatre Royal Winchester this coming spring half-term break.

The fun starts on Friday 13 February when Wickedly Ariana comes to the stage. Featuring the UK’s leading Ariana Grande tribute performing favourite album tracks, plus, songs from the movie and stage show, Wicked; incredible costumes; stunning choreography; a live band and dancers, audiences are encouraged to sing, dance and dress-up for the early evening show. Plus, after, there is a free meet-and-greet with the cast for photos and autographs!

The Tiger Who Came to Tea comes to Winchester from Saturday 14 – Monday 16 February and recalls author and illustrator Judith Kerr’s classic story about a mother and her daughter, Sophie, who open the door to a tea-guzzling tiger! Direct from the West End, this Olivier Award nominated show is packed with clumsy chaos and sing-a-long songs.

Curtains, which takes to the stage from Thursday 19 – Saturday 21 February, is a musical murder mystery from the creators of Cabaret and Chicago. Packed with unforgettable characters, wit and showstoppers, it is brought to the stage by the award-winning Encore Youth Theatre based in Winchester and specialising in all aspects of musical theatre.

Meanwhile, for parents and others, on Sunday 15 February, there is a cinema screening of The Royal Ballet’s Olivier-award winning ballet triptych, Woolf Works, which explores modernist writer Virginia Woolf’s works. On Monday 16 February, The BIG ROYAL General Knowledge Quiz returns – when teams can test their knowledge while supporting the theatre’s charity Play to the Crowd’s artist development event programme. Tickets cost just £4 per person.

Finally, on Sunday 22 February, comedian Mark Simmons returns to the stage with a brand-new show, Jest to Impress, featuring expertly crafted one-liners and trademark off-the-cuff jokes based on random audience suggestions.
