Comedy fans can enjoy more crafty one-liners and trademark off-the-cuff jokes from stand-up comic Mark Simmons when he visits Theatre Royal Winchester for two nights– on Sunday 22 February and Tuesday 14 April.
Mark Simmons – who has been described as the ‘master of the crisp, clean, one-liner’ (Evening Standard) – is back on tour with his brand-new show, Jest to Impress, which will feature expertly crafted jokes as well as ones based on random audience suggestions. He returns after enjoying a 200+ date sell-out debut tour that lasted two years and saw the comedian delighting audiences across the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
The winner of TV channel Dave’s Funniest Joke of the Fringe award in 2024; the Victoria Wood Panel Prize Fringe award in 2023; and the UK Comics’ Comic in the category of Best Act in 2022, Simmons has been seen on the likes of BBC panel show, Mock the Week, and heard via his podcast, Jokes with Mark Simmons – on which he invites fellow comics such as Gary Delaney and Sarah Millican to discuss jokes they’ve written but couldn’t get to work.
Mark Simmons: Jest to Impress will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Sunday 22 February and Tuesday 14 April 2026, at 7.30pm. Recommended age: 14+. For more information, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
