Preview: International Women’s Day Local Talent Showcase, Theatre Royal Winchester

A celebration of women’s voices, creativity and community takes place at Theatre Royal Winchester on Sunday 8 March in the International Women’s Day Local Talent Showcase.

Audiences are invited to enjoy a showcase of original, powerful spoken word pieces inspired by strong women of our time, created by young people from Playmakers Youth Theatre and students from the University of Winchester.

The pieces will have been created in the lead-up to the showcase by the participants taking part in a workshop with local poet and spoken word artist, Jo Fisher, helping them spark ideas and shape their original performances for the show.

Participants will share their work beside that of other local spoken word artists, and accompanied by live, improvised soundscapes provided by music students from the University of Winchester.

This is a Pick Your Price event meaning audiences can choose the ticket price that works for them. The ticket prices start from £4.

International Women’s Day Local Talent Showcase will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Sunday 8 March at 2pm. For more information, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
