Reader’s letter: Ramadan Mubarak to everybody

Reader’s letter: Ramadan Mubarak to everybody

By Parveen Ishfaq.

Ramadan Mubarak to everybody.

Ramadan is the holiest month in Islam, a time when Muslims around the world draw closer to Allah through fasting, prayer, charity, and reflection. It commemorates the month in which the Qur’an was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), bringing guidance and mercy to humanity.

Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, not simply to abstain from food and drink, but to nourish the soul. Fasting teaches self-discipline, gratitude, and compassion. When we feel hunger and thirst, we are reminded of those who struggle daily, and our hearts soften towards the poor and the needy.

Ramadan is not just about fasting. It is about cleansing the heart from anger, pride, and negativity. It is about strengthening family ties, increasing acts of kindness, giving in charity, and striving to become better human beings. It is a month of forgiveness, mercy, and spiritual renewal.

For Muslims, Ramadan is a gift, a chance to reset, to grow, and to reconnect with faith and humanity.

Ramadan Mubarak to everybody. May this month bring peace, understanding, and blessings to us all.

A’ameen Ya Rabbal Alameen
