Family audiences are in for a treat this Easter break when the mischievous Cat in the Hat comes to Theatre Royal Winchester from Tuesday 7 April.
Cat in the Hat is the acclaimed stage adaptation of the Dr Seuss classic about the cat in the tall, red and white-striped hat, and how the moment characters Sally and her brother meet him, they know this is the funniest cat they have ever met.
From there – and with the trickiest of tricks and craziest ideas – the cat turns their rainy afternoon into an amazing adventure!
Described as a lively and engaging first theatre experience for children aged 3+, featuring ‘playful set pieces’ and ‘great choreography’ (The Stage), the show comes to Winchester courtesy of Sam Bradshaw Productions. Established in 2007 after Longleat Safari Park needed a safari park-themed show, Sam Bradshaw Productions have since produced bespoke entertainment for Carnival UK cruise ships, and the stage adaptation of Eric Hill’s beloved children’s book, Spot’s Birthday Party, featuring songs, dancing and party games.
Cat in the Hat is guaranteed to captivate family members of all ages, not only the very young – and following each performance the audience can meet the Cat in the Hat himself!
Cat in the Hat will be at Theatre Royal Winchester from Tuesday 7 – Wednesday 8 April at various times. Recommended age: 3+. For more information, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
