Southampton’s much-loved variety show fundraiser returns for 2026

The countdown is on for a truly spectacular evening of fundraising at Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre, supporting cardiac charity Heartbeat.

On Sunday, 19 April 2026 Variety from the Heart 2026 will light up the stage with its full-to-bursting line up of talent of seasoned professionals and local rising stars performing live music, side-splitting comedy and specialist variety acts.

Returning to Southampton is the ever-charismatic Lloyd Hollett, known as ‘The Comedy Wordsmith’ and Ventriloquist and comedian, Max Fulham, fresh from his run in Mayflower Theatre’s 2025 pantomime, The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan. Both of these are performing alongside star of the show and headline act, Shayne Ward.

Audiences can also expect stunning performances from popular Eastleigh-based Spot On Productions, Parkewood School of Dance and Sing Now Choir, plus special guests.

All funds raised from this year’s event will go towards Rotary Heartbeat House and the new heart failure unit at the University Hospital Southampton.

“Carrying on the success of the From the Heart events that have raised thousands for Heartbeat, we wanted this event to be more than just a show – it had to reflect the heart of our community,” said Tina Richardson, Head of Operations at Heartbeat.

“To see so many talented performers come together on the stage at Mayflower Theatre in support of our charity is incredible and we are so grateful for all the support. It’s also amazing to bring together both professional and local acts in a variety of heartfelt and inspiring performances.

“We cannot wait to show you a brilliant, fantastic performance that is sure to wow audiences out of their seats and raise vital funds for Heartbeat.”

“We bring a diverse line-up of productions to our theatre, and Variety from the Heart is a wonderful addition, perfect for all ages,” added Mayflower Chief Executive, Michael Ockwell. “Even better, it’s all for a good cause! Heartbeat makes an amazing difference in the area we serve, so it’s always a pleasure to work with the charity.”

Tickets for Heartbeat Variety of the Heart (Sunday 19 April 2026) are on sale at mayflower.org.uk or 02380 711811.
