Audiences seeking adventure can enjoy another evening of award-winning short films showcasing the world’s most stunning landscapes and stories of human connection, when the Kendal Mountain Tour 2026 comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday 30 April.
The evening’s programme will feature films celebrating swimming, sisterhood and the resilience of generations of Black women; as well as the female established, inclusive grassroots skateboarding collectives providing safe spaces for female and LGBTQ+ skaters; plus, they will explore extreme adventuring and exploration, motivation, risk and physical danger, loss, self-discovery, trust, teamwork, and the limits of human endurance.
Audiences will also hear from guest speakers, The Turner Twins, Ross and Hugo Turner, who in October 2024 retraced the steps of George Mallory and Sandy Irvine who disappeared while attempting to summit Everest in 1924 – 100 years earlier. For their expedition one brother was equipped with Mallory’s 1924 kit, the other, cutting-edge gear. Over the last decade they have completed multiple expeditions, researching human performance and technological innovations, following the spinal injury Hugo faced at 17.
The Kendal Mountain Tour is an evening for avid explorers, story seekers, and people who appreciate the beauty of nature, and promises to leave audiences moved and inspired.
Kendal Mountain Tour 2026 will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday 30 April at 7pm. For more information, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
