English folk rock band, Steeleye Span, return to Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 1 May, celebrating 57 years together and performing their first full studio album in five years, Conflict.
The band, which formed in 1969 with a vision to play folk music in a contemporary, electric band format, has seen its line-up change numerous times over the decades but Steeleye Span have still become one of the most influential names in British roots music, taking the genre out of small clubs into a world of international tours and award ceremonies.
Steeleye Span return to Winchester to perform Conflict, which includes songs from centuries past as well as from the last century. The album is so-called as it reflects the times we live in, as well as the stretched relationship humans have with planet Earth.
This performance features a selection of songs from across the years, plus, fan favourites.
Steeleye Span will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 1 May at 7.30pm. For more information, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
