Legacy Action Week – a week of events raising awareness of the impact of gifts in wills to small, community organisations – returns from Monday 20 to Friday 24 April.
Legacy Action Week is a collaboration by eight Winchester-based charities, celebrating the difference a gift in a will can make to smaller organisations.
The charities are Play to the Crowd, Winchester Hospice, Trinity Winchester, Friends of the Family, St John’s Winchester, Winchester GoLD, Winchester Youth Counselling, and Winchester and District Young Carers.
The week’s events across Winchester city centre will showcase the work of these charities and inform on gift-making and legacy giving.
Events taking place across the city include:
- The Later Years (Mon 20 April, free) – an informative and accessible guide to later life, outlining practical steps older people can take to put their affairs in order
- Walk and Talk with Winchester Youth Counselling (Tue 21 April, free) – a mental health walk and opportunity to learn about the charity’s work
- See Trinity. Leave a legacy of hope (Tue 21 Apr, free) – a chance to meet the people the charity supports
- A series of DEDTALKS (Wed 22 April, free) – a drop-in event to seek expert advice; a series of short talks designed to demystify the process of making a will
