The first ever Winchester Pride event is set to take place on 9th May.

This is organised by the charity Winchester Pride, which has the objectives to end discrimination on the grounds of being LGBTQIA+, as well as raising awareness for the community and supporting other projects in the Winchester District.

The charity’s namesake event Winchester Pride event begins at 11am, the details announced so far promise “activities, stalls and entertainment” at The Broadway, Winchester next to the Guildhall.

There will also be a Pride march across Winchester which will start gathering from 1pm and kick off at 2pm.

The inaugural Pride event will then carry on until 5pm, with ‘festival entertainment’ from the balcony and steps of the Guildhall.

A decade ago there was a Pride event in Winchester called Hampshire Pride, which had to stop due to COVID, the newly incorporated Winchester Pride aims to bring back Pride but localised to Winchester rather than all across Hampshire.

Follow Winchester Pride on social media or go to winchesterpride.org to find out more details once they are announced.
