Play to the Crowd – the charity that runs Theatre Royal Winchester – is looking for local performers to audition to be part of this year’s traditional family pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, which will run from Friday 4 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027.
The charity that produces the theatre’s annual pantomime wants to hear from talented performers with a flair for dancing, acting and singing, who want to volunteer to be part of the panto’s Community Ensemble.
This is an opportunity for people to broaden their performance and industry experience, taking to Theatre Royal Winchester’s stage and performing alongside established professional actors.
The audition will be primarily dance based but the team are always keen to see personality and be made aware of any interesting, unique or unusual performance skills.
Applications to audition are welcome from anyone aged 16 or older (16 by 31 August 2026) – with the closing date for applications: Sunday 14 June at 11.59pm.
The audition will take place on Saturday 20 June, from 9.30am – 1pm, at The Paul Chamberlain Building, University of Winchester, King Alfred Campus, SO22 4NJ.

Each Community Ensemble member will receive four complimentary tickets to see the panto – two during the first weekend of shows and an additional two during the run – T&Cs apply.
