Preview: Later Youth, The Railway, Winchester

Later Youth has announced a UK tour and a forthcoming new single, including a stop at The Railway in Winchester.

Since fronting Manchester indie-folk favourites The Travelling Band, Jo Dudderidge has built a reputation as a sought-after producer, songwriter and session musician, working with an impressive roster of artists including Victoria Canal, Chloe Foy, Rose Gray, Stephen Fretwell, Human Interest, Joyeria, Bette Smith, and longtime collaborator Lissie.

Dudderidge explains: All That Remains comes from a place of frustration, confusion, and emotional exhaustion with both the world around me and my own relationship to it. It’s the feeling of not recognising the world you live in anymore, thinking about leaving before deciding to embrace what’s left.”

Last year’s debut album, Living History, had widespread praise and landed in the top ten of the Independent Album Breakers Chart.

Stepping back into the spotlight as Later Youth, Dudderidge returns his unmistakable voice and signature Wurlitzer electric piano to centre stage, blending raw, heart-on-sleeve lyricism with fresh, idiosyncratic takes on classic rock, soul, blues, and alt-country.

Tour dates:

Friday 12 June – Kamera Ballroom, Manchester

Saturday 13 June – The Railway Inn, Winchester

Thursday 18 June – The Piper, St Leonards-on Sea

Friday 19 June – The Lexington, London

Jo Dudderidge’s genre-blending alter-ego will be performing with full band, taking in Manchester, Winchester, St Leonards-on-Sea and London.

The new single, due for release on 27 May, is called All That Remains – a swaying indie-folk track with lilting string arrangement, Dudderidge’s lyrical piano arpeggios and a twin-guitar break, all packed into three minutes.

Later Youth’s debut album, Living History, is out now via Sideways Saloon, distributed by Kartel Music Group.
