Young people interested in performing and theatre are invited to recreate one of Aesop’s tales when Play in 2 Days begins at Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday 6 August.
Play in 2 Days is an opportunity for young people aged 6 – 12 years to spend two days exploring scripts and creating a performance to present to their family and friends at the end of the second day (Friday 7 August). The young people will get to work with and perform one of Aesop’s Fables, adapted by George P. Murphy. Including The Wolf And The Lamb, The Lion And The Mouse, The Ant and The Grasshopper, and The Tortoise And The Hare.
Across the two days, the Play in 2 Days workshops will introduce participants to scripts and working with them in a playful and accessible way; help them build confidence in reading and performing scripts; encourage collaboration with others, creativity, and ownership of a performance; and help participants develop acting skills. The focus will be on experimentation and process over polished performance. No prior acting experience is needed, just plenty of enthusiasm and lots of imagination!
Places are limited. Anyone looking for financial support is welcome to discuss this with Young People’s Producer, Shian Hunter-Brown, by emailing shian@playtothecrowd.co.uk.
Play in 2 Days will take place at Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday 6 – Friday 7 August, 10am – 4pm each day, with the performance on the Friday at 4pm. Rec age: 6 – 12. For more information, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
