THEIR Initiative is in collaboration with address to welcome acclaimed DJ and producer I. Jordan (they/them) for a special DJ workshop exclusively for trans+ and gender non-conforming people.
The session, taking place on Thursday, August 13, from 6 to 8pm at IO, Terminus Terrace, Southampton. will begin with a short talk from I. Jordan, who will share their journey into DJing, experiences as a trans person in the DJ scene, and reflections on their creative practice, influences and interests.
Participants will then have the opportunity to get hands-on with DJ equipment and learn directly from one of the UK’s most celebrated electronic artists.
This workshop is open exclusively to trans+, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people, and is designed to provide a supportive environment for learning, experimentation, and connection for those of all abilities.
The ticket allows entry into the fundraiser event that follows the workshop.
Even if you’re not going to the workshop, you can attend a special fundraising night celebrating community, electronic music, and trans+ creativity, on Thursday, August 13, from 8 to 10pm at the same location.
Featuring a headline opening set from I. JORDAN followed by a line-up of address DJs, the event is set to raise funds to support the ongoing work of THEIR Initiative and address – two organisations committed to building community, creating opportunities, and championing inclusive spaces through art, music and culture.
Every ticket sold directly supports THEIR Initiative’s work championing trans+ creativity and artistic excellence, alongside address’ mission to build community through electronic music. Come to dance, connect, and help sustain two organisations creating space for communities that need it most.
