Anyone looking for an uplifting way to spend an afternoon can drop in on Theatre Royal Winchester on Saturday 22 August for The Big Saturday Sing.
This free, drop-in event, which will run from 11.30am – 5pm, will feature well-known, popular local choirs and groups singing their hearts out for the public’s enjoyment.
The event will take place outside the theatre with tables and chairs set out for passers-by to stop and relax and take in the joyful song. The theatre will also be open for refreshments.

Audiences will hear from:
Blue Apple Singers – a vibrant choir from Hampshire’s award-winning arts organisation, which champions neuro-disabled performers, whose uplifting and joyful performances celebrate creativity, inclusion, and community.
Sing For Fun perform pop, rock and musical theatre tunes from the 1950s to the present day, rejecting the formality of traditional choirs to make singing accessible and fun for all, and in turn boosting its members’ wellbeing.
Sing It Otterbourne are a community choir with a simple mission: to have fun, sing for enjoyment and raise money for charity!
Sing Now Choir has hundreds of members across Hampshire and regularly performs across the county, enjoying supporting local events and causes.
SO Sound Choir describe themselves as a modern choir based in Southampton, who learn modern arrangements of popular songs from all genres of music – pop, rock, indie, soul, musical theatre, Motown and more!
Winchester Community Choir grew out of a series of workshops back in 2005 when participants said they wanted to be in a choir without need for audition. They now sing and perform to raise money for charity.
