On 23rd August 2026, Trans Pride Winchester returned for its third year.
TPW was a fun filled day which started from 10:30am with a protest march through the city centre, ending at the Abbey Gardens next to the Guidhall where members of the community gave speeches.
Following this, the crowd dispersed to Winnall, where a local venue was used for an event with stalls and performance from local artists such as Ophelia Dior. The volunteers behind the event guided people to walk to the venue, or go as a group together by bus to get to the venue which I thought was really good to help people who could otherwise struggle with the accessibility of Winchester.
For the first time, Trans Pride Winchester had an after party in a local pub. I personally was not able to attend this but I have seen photos and can see it was very well attended.
Trans Pride Winchester has had its best year yet. As a grassroots group, Trans Pride Winchester has achieved a lot with their accessible events, and I cannot wait for next year already!
