Originally released in 1996, the 1977 album is the #1 platinum-selling debut that launched Ash from teenage upstarts to Britpop-era icons.
Three decades on, this 30th Anniversary Edition celebrates the album that defined a generation with its breakneck energy, razor-sharp hooks and unforgettable anthems including Girl From Mars, Goldfinger, Kung Fu and Oh Yeah.
Earlier this year on 6 May the band played a very special live streamed concert direct from the Belfast Oh Yeah Centre – 30 years to the day since the original release of 1977. The intimate live acoustic set of the album was hosted by Taylor Johnson from BBC Introducing, who chatted to the band and delved into the stories and inspirations behind the music that helped define a generation.
The band also announced a global 1977 tour from September with stops across Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia and Europe – with Japanese dates to be announced soon – before wrapping up in the UK and Ireland in December. They will be coming to Southampton’s O2 Guildhall on December 2nd.
