Casting announced for Fareham Live’s Jack and the Beanstalk

Get ready for a giant dose of panto magic as Fareham Live announces the principal cast joining this year’s spectacular production of Jack and the Beanstalk.

The Trotts are so poor they don’t have a bean to their name and what’s more, there’s an evil and greedy giant terrifying the village. Will they really have to sell Buttercup, the family cow, just to survive?

Join brave young Jack as he swaps his cow for a handful of magic beans, sparking an epic journey to the land of giants. Expect dazzling sets, show-stopping songs, plenty of audience participation, and more panto magic than you can shake a wand at!

Starring Anne Hegerty (The Chase) as the villainous Poison Ivy, alongside returning panto Dame Josiah Eloi, this year’s pantomime promises to be bigger, bolder, and funnier than ever.

Seasoned panto comedian, Sean Dodds will join the pair as Jack’s hilarious but hapless brother Simon, who is guaranteed to bring belly laughs galore.

Sean’s career has seen him in panto for over a decade whilst elsewhere on stage he has appeared many favourites including Flash Bang Wallop (UK tour) West Side Story and Oliver! (Curve Theatre) as well as appearing on screen in BBC’s Teenage Kicks and The Device.

Sean heads to Fareham Live for the first time and is ready for Christmas by the seaside.

“I’m so excited to be coming to Fareham Live for panto this year,” he says. “I’ve heard great things about the venue and cannot wait to work with such an amazing cast. Jack and the Beanstalk is a brilliant panto as it has such a strong storyline, and people are always blown away when they get to see the giant on stage!”

Joining Sean is Carl Tracey, best known to a generation of young fans as one fifth of children’s musical group Go!Go!Go! He takes the title role of Jack alongside his feisty sidekick Jill, played by Poppy Valentine who wowed Fareham audiences last year in Beauty and the Beast.  Peter Watts(Only Fools & Horses: The Musical, Alice in Wonderland) plays Jill’s father Squire O’Dwyer, while Rachel Delooze (The Canterville Ghost, Anyone Can Whistle) brings plenty of magic to the stage as Fairy Flora.

Produced by the award-wining Imagine Theatre, audiences can expect a spectacular, toe-tapping, laugh-out-loud pantomime for the whole family as Sheena Hulme, Venue Director at Fareham Live, says: “Alongside Anne Hegerty and returning favourite Josiah Eloi, this fantastic cast has all the ingredients for a spectacular festive family show. We know audiences across the region are going to have a wonderful time making magical memories with us.

Whether you’re a panto regular or brand new to the tradition, this is the festive treat you won’t want to miss. Book your tickets now for this ‘moo-vellous’ family friendly panto which will leave everyone aged 4 to 104 feeling full of ‘beans’!
