Local musicians sought to take to the stage at Wickham Festival 2023

Are you a local musician, band or in a choir? Have  you always wanted to play at a festival? Then you could be in luck.

Applications are being sought from local musicians and bands to play at next year’s Wickham Festival by Sound Level.

Following the success of the Acoustic Stage at the 2022 Wickham Festival, Sound Level have been entrusted with two stages at the 2023 Festival. The Acoustic Stage remains, but there will also be a full electric stage for larger bands. The team at Sound Level, who also run Sofar Sounds in Southampton and Winchester, are understandably excited about giving this great opportunity to artists in our region.

As Peter Nicholson from Sound Level explains: “During the 2022 Wickham Festival, we invited dozens of local artists to play in front of the festival crowds. It was such a success that, as well as the Acoustic Stage, we now also have an additional full-electric stage. Unlike many festivals, we want these stages to be almost exclusively open to artists of all genres from our region. We want to give them the chance to get in front of a new audience in a festival environment.”

Applications are open to everyone, from solo artists, to bands and choirs. You will need to be able to provide two videos of live  performances in order to apply.
