Not wishing to freak out anyone who hasn’t finished (or started) their preparations but Christmas is this week – Sunday in fact. So obviously we’re in full Christmas swing.
This week’s listings, courtesy of our friends at Shop Local Southampton, carry us all the way into the New Year, so there are plenty of party and DJ nights to choose from to celebrate shrugging of 2022 and stepping into 2023.
All of the pantos are on the go now. There’s Goldilocks and the Three Bears at Mayflower Theatre, Southampton, which has received rave reviews – read one here – The Wizard of Oz at Theatre Royal Winchester – which has been similarly praised, read a review here, and Alice, a Musical Adventure in Wonderland, pictured top, read the review here. There are plenty of other Christmas shows to choose from too.
New Year’s Eve delights include The Joiners New Year’s Eve Party, featuring Young Andy, The Jazzabelles and more, Keepers Brew and others at The Art House, Bandeoke at The Stage Door, The Underdogs at The Brook, Backwater Roll at Belgium and Blues, sixties covers at The Dolphin, St Denys, Soul 45 at Overdraft in Shirley, and many, many more to choose from.
