Preview: Kendal Mountain Tour 2023 – Adventure Films, Theatre Royal Winchester

Fans of travel, adventure and sport can enjoy an evening of award-winning films when Kendal Mountain Tour 2023 – Adventure Films is staged at Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday 8 June.

Kendal Mountain Tour 2023 – Adventure Films celebrate some of the most spectacular places on Earth, and showcases wilderness and adventure travel from across the globe.

Presented by the world’s biggest mountain festival, Kendal Mountain Festival, and featuring guest speaker, author and adventure cyclist, Rebecca Lowe, audiences can enjoy a selection of films creating waves in the worlds of cycling, skiing, mountaineering, swimming and running.

Kendal Mountain Tour 2023 – Adventure Films follows an ultra-runner advocating for Afghan women, female wild swimmers, some of the top cyclists in Africa, mountaineers on a trans-alpine journey, a skier whose descent went viral, a pair who created a rugged bike trail suitable for adaptive and non-adaptive riders, and a woman who ran the New York City Marathon aged 86.

Plus, Rebecca Lowe will share the entertaining and perception-altering story of her solo cycle ride across the Middle East – an 11,000km route through Europe and onto Iran, which she took in 2015 during the Syrian War in a bid to learn about this troubled region and its relationship with the West.

While landscapes and history captured her heart, it was a challenging journey and she relied on the kindness and hospitality of locals to complete it.

Kendal Mountain Festival is a celebration of outdoor culture, inspiring people to explore, enjoy and represent mountains, wilderness and their cultures, and hosts a world-class programme of films and talks from international adventurers.

Film programmes are bespoke and subject to change.

Kendal Mountain Tour 2023 – Adventure Films, plus guest speaker Rebecca Lowe, will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Thursday 8 June. Recommended age: 12+. Tickets £15. For more information or to book tickets visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
