Southern Water demo taking place today

Protesters from Southampton and Portsmouth are  joining others outside Southern Water’s headquarters in Worthing today (November 7) with the message ‘stop polluting our water’.

Unite Community organised coaches to the event, which began at noon. A spokesperson said: “week. This is unacceptable. We need to tell Southern Water how we feel.

Amongst them is Helen Field, from Southampton, who said: “We are horrified at the state of our water in the UK. Every river has had sewage poured into it, on a regular basis. This means we cannot swim or paddle safely in our rivers, and the harm to wildlife and resulting loss of biodiversity is nothing short of criminal.  It’s time to protest at our regional Water HQ. ”
