Preview: Friend (The One with Gunther), Theatre Royal Winchester

Friends fanatics will be delighted to hear that the award-winning parody, Friend (The One with Gunther), is coming to Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 9 February.

The show, which celebrates the much-loved 90s TV series – all ten seasons, 236 episodes – retells the stories of everyone’s favourite characters, Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, Monica and Joey, through the eyes of Central Perk’s ‘seventh Friend’, Gunther.

This is the insider story of what happened to the beloved characters from the one man who kept them caffeinated through their highs and lows, love affairs and failed auditions.

The ‘must-see’ show was created by acclaimed comic actor, Brendan Murphy, who is also the co-creator of the award-nominated satirical podcast, NonCensored, with comedian, Rosie Holt. It will be performed by Joseph Maudsley who has recently performed around the world with the Olivier award-nominated Potter Potter.

Audiences might also be interested in Murphy’s multi-award-winning parody, Buffy Revamped, which visits the theatre on Tuesday 20 February.

Friend (The One with Gunther) will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 9 February at 7.30pm. Recommended age: 14+ (strong language). For more information or to book tickets visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
