Jazz fans are guaranteed an unforgettable evening with Swinging at the Cotton Club at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 28 February.

Swinging at the Cotton Club returns to Winchester with a spectacular showcase of dance and music, taking audiences on a trip back in time to New York City in the 1920s and 1930s, and to Harlem’s hottest nightclub, The Cotton Club.

The show pays homage to the celebrated hot spot where jazz stars like Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie and Duke Ellington delighted their fans while dancers such as Bojangles Robinson and the Nicholas Brothers marvelled with their breath-taking routines.

On stage, the 10-piece Harry Strutters Hot Rhythm Orchestra, founded in 1968, have toured the UK and Europe, from hotels to conferences, festivals to TV shows – and are joined by the UK’s finest authentic jazz dance company, The Lindy Hop Dance Company, whose members have performed at the London Olympics Opening Ceremony and with shows including Riverdance and dance companies such as Diversity.

With a repertoire of swinging classics, impeccable choreography and dazzling costumes, together they promise dance and music fans, and everyone in between, an unforgettable evening of entertainment.

This is a show that will see audiences tapping their toes and clapping their hands with joy.

Swinging at the Cotton Club will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 28 February at 7.30pm. For more information or to book tickets visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
