Preview: An Evening with Sir Willard White and the Kymaera Duo, Theatre Royal Winchester

Opera aficionados are invited to an evening with beloved opera star, Sir Willard White, at Theatre Royal Winchester on Saturday 24 May.

The evening with see Sir Willard White – considered one of the most versatile opera singers of the last 40 years – reminisce on his life on stage and screen and sing songs that are important to him – from Nat King Cole from his youth in Jamaica to Gershwin’s folk opera Porgy and Bess in 1976 to those that made the Bass-Baritone singer Paul Robeson famous in the 1920s and 30s.

The star, who has performed in opera houses and concert halls around the world, will be joined by the Kymaera guitar duo (Shane Hill and Simon James) – who have been performing together for over 20 years and have appeared with the classical and jazz vocal stars, Maris Ewing, plus, the late Frank Holder.
