A Bridgerton star takes to the stage in a National Theatre Live screening of The Playboy of the Western World at Theatre Royal Winchester on Tuesday 2 June.
The Playboy of the Western World centres around the character Pegeen Flaherty whose life is turned upside down when a young man walks into her pub claiming he’s killed his father.
However, instead of being shunned, the killer becomes a local hero and begins to win hearts. Until a second man unexpectedly arrives on the scene!
This play about youth and self-discovery is by the Irish playwright and poet, John Millington Synge, and is directed by Caitríona McLaughlin. Darkly funny and full to the brim with secrets, it stars Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton, Derry Girls), Éanna Hardwicke (The Sixth Commandment, Normal People) and Siobhán McSweeney (Derry Girls, Amandaland).
The Playboy of the Western World was filmed live on stage at the National Theatre. The screening has a 12certification.
