Pride and Honour wrestling event, raising funds for People’s Pride Southampton, set for May

A charity wrestling event to raise money for People’s Pride Southampton is being held in the city this May.

The aim of the event is to provide thrilling action for all the family whilst raising awareness of equality in wrestling and sports.

The Pride and Honour wrestling event takes place on May 13th 2023 at the Empire Hall between 6-8pm. It’s a family friendly event to raise money for the People’s Pride Southampton, an award-wining group of LGBT+ people and allies who provide events, support and training, including Party in the Park and Transgender Pride.

The show itself will feature wrestlers including kids favourite James Cena, Anthony Storm, Johnny Royal and ‘The Dark Prince’ Jensen Ryan who has appeared on BBC1 and ITV1.

It is Jensen (pictured), who is from Southampton who is bringing the event to the city.

He said: “I am a gay pro-wrestler and over the past year I have been advocating equality in sport. I am really excited about running this event because I want to show that sport and wrestling are for anyone, no matter who you are. The response to the TV appearances were so positive and I wanted to continue to make showcase equality with this event.”

There will be matches including singles matches, tag team matches and so much more!  Get ready to cheer your favourites and boo the villains in this American style wrestling event.

Tickets are £10 per adult and £8 for kids 12 and under and can be booked at www.prideandhonourwrestling.co.uk
