TriFest will not return this year

The organisers of Southampton’s TriFest have announced tonight (July 31st) that it will not return this year.

The free community event had been due to take place in Riverside Park on Saturday, July 22nd but was cancelled due to bad weather being forecast.

At the time the organisers said they were in talks to rearrange the festival near Bitterne Park Triangle, Southampton, for later in the summer.

In a statement on Twitter this evening they said: “Sadly TriFest will not return this year. We had a huge amount of goodwill from stallholders, artists, and festival goers, and we really tried to make it happen but on the dates available to us it just would  (not) come together.”

The event was set to feature a range of performances from local musicians alongside stalls from local traders and community organisations, games, a dog show run by Second Chance Animal Rescue (just enter on the day), food, artwork projects and a bar.

In a post on July 21 the organisers said “We have been inundated with kind words & messages of support since announce we had to cancel. Thanks everyone.”
