Preview: Simply Barbra, Theatre Royal Winchester

Barbra Streisand fans are in for a treat when they witness Steven Brinberg’s incredible tribute to the star in Simply Barbra on Friday 20 October at Theatre Royal Winchester.

Brinberg writes and stars as the multi award-winning singer and actress known for Don’t Rain on My Parade, Memories, Woman in Love, and The Way We Were, and films, including Hello, Dolly!, A Star Is Born, Meet the Fockers and Yentl, plus many more.

Simply Barbra is a show that Brinberg updates annually as he travels the world, receiving international acclaim. So far, he has twice toured Australia, New Zealand and England –with runs in London’s West End, plus shows in Spain, Mexico, Canada, and more.

Brinberg – who has a decade of performing experience – has starred on Broadway in the concert version of Funny Girl – Streisand’s 1968 Oscar-winning film debut, and sang at American composer and songwriter Stephen Sondheim’s birthday concert.

He was invited by the late American composer and conductor, Marvin Hamlisch, to appear with the Symphony Orchestras of Dallas, Milwaukee, Buffalo and Norfolk, and the National Symphony Orchestra. He has also narrated the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus concert and enjoyed countless TV appearances.

Steven Brinberg is an impressionist who does not lip-sync, his performances portray Streisand using his very own voice!

Simply Barbra will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 20 October at 7.30pm. For more information or to book tickets visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
