UK singer-songwriter Devon releases his new mixtape ‘When The World Goes Quiet’ later this month (24th October), ahead of a UK tour, which brings him to Southampton’s Heartbreakers on November 6th.
A collection of songs written mostly at night, when silence allowed space for reflection, the project reveals the parts of ourselves often hidden away. Across its tracklist, Devon pieces together moments of guilt, frustration, reckoning and release, mirroring the chaos and clarity of real life. Fresh off the back of supporting McFly at their summer shows, including their date in Southampton, Devon will bring his mixtape to life on his own UK headline tour this November.
For Devon, ‘When The World Goes Quiet’ is more than a mixtape, it’s a late-night world of hidden thoughts and confronting truths. “These songs made me look at myself in a darker light and showed a side to me that isn’t perfect. The side we don’t like to think about, a hidden world. Again, when the world goes quiet.”
To showcase the release, Devon will be taking to the road for his biggest UK headline tour to date. The six-date run in November will see him step onto stages he once stood in as a fan, including London’s Colours and Bristol’s Thekla. “This tour is the biggest, scariest one yet,” he says. “I’ve spent the summer playing huge outdoor shows with McFly, so I’m excited to bring that energy into these sweaty, tight headline shows.”
