Campaign group Southampton Keep Our NHS Public will be holding an online public meeting, entitled Call The Midwife, on Monday, June 27.
The Zoom event, to be held oat 7pm, will feature recently retired midwife Jane Well, who will be talking about the crisis in the NHS midwifery service.
Jane was involved in the March with Midwives national action in November, and earlier this year spoke at the NHS SOS rally in Southampton.
The event is being held by the local branch of KONP, a national organisation which campaigns for a public health service available according to need, free at the point of use, paid from general taxation and publicly accountable, with no internal market – in other words, against privatisation and to protect and develop the NHS.
