Artistic passions combine for Hampshire Open Studios in Winchester

Artistic passions combine for Hampshire Open Studios in Winchester

Local artist Charlotte Rose welcomes Eastleigh-based Donna Mcghie to her studio in Winchester, as part of Hampshire Open Studios from 20th to 29th August.

Both have specific passions driving their artwork. Charlotte (pictured top) is an ecologist and self-taught artist, focusing on raising awareness of the fragile natural environment in her colourful landscape paintings. Donna is a multi-skilled mixed-media artist, with projects often raising money for medical causes, including Royal Papworth Hospital.

This year visitors to the studio can expect even more great artwork on display and for sale. Watch Charlotte painting and Donna will teach you how to decorate a wand, great for children and adults alike.

Donna says: “I’m an experienced tutor in the medium of Powertex, and use upcycled materials in my sculptures. Everyone is invited to get creative and have a go.”

Charlotte says “I’m excited to team up with such a creative spirit, and open the doors for all to get involved with our art. Nature and the environment features strongly in our work, and creates a powerful emotional connection.”

The studio is open both weekends, as well as Monday 22nd and Friday 26th August, or get in touch to make an appointment at another time. For all details, see hampshireopenstudios.org.uk/artists/winchester/item/charlotte-rose
