People’s Pride Southampton, the award-winning Pride charity that operates all year round, is launching a winter pop-up Pride and Outreach shop in the Marland’s Shopping Centre, Southampton. Usually, to be found in Southampton Bargate Market in the city centre every Friday and Saturday from January to October, as winter approaches, they are moving to other venues as the weekly market cannot currently operate due to the annual Christmas market in the same location.
The organisers of Party in the Park (pictured top), Trans pride Southampton, and various other community events in the city have already been working hard popping up in various locations through their supporters Dream Empire Market Company, including WestQuay, Southampton. They have been offering support, outreach, and Pride merchandise.
But now they are working on bringing the biggest ever Pride shop to Southampton. They have teamed up with This Is Flourish and the Marland’s Shopping Centre, who offer charities space in shopping centres at an affordable price, giving charities and small business a chance to test trade or indeed showcase their work.
The People’s Pride Pop Up shop will also feature regular drop-ins from other charities, host a collection point for the Street Angels rough sleepers support project and much, much more. The shop will also have a wide range of information available from other charities and support organisations who work supporting the LGBTQ+ community too.
They will also be offering free outreach and support services, and as always if people just want to pop in for a chat and a coffee or tea, they are welcome to do so.
As well as this over the three-week run, Santa will be visiting, courtesy of the generous support of Blake Entertainments.
On sale in the shop will be their biggest ever range of pride gifts and merchandise including pins, badges, socks, mugs, LGBTQ+ Christmas cards, large flags and much more.
The People’s Pride Pop-up Shop opens on the ground floor of Marland’s Shopping Centre in the Flourish Store (next to Blue Inc) on Monday November 28th, 2022, at 10:00am. The shop will be open 7 days a week and will close on Sunday 18th December 2022.
