Preview: Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book, Theatre Royal Winchester

Little ones can enjoy another Julia Donaldson classic coming to Theatre Royal Winchester – Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book, which is with the venue from Tuesday 2 to Wednesday 3 April 2024.

Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book tells the story of Charlie who loves reading – especially books about pirates. But his sister hates it and finds it boring.

Can Charlie convince her that reading is fun by delving into a range of books and helping her discover the wonderful world inside a book.

Based on the book by the beloved children’s book author, Julia Donaldson, and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, this adaptation is co-produced by Little Angel Theatre who use puppets to create stories and whose shows have played around the world, The Lowry arts centre and Rose Theatre. It features puppetry and enchanting songs by Barb Jungr (We’re Going on A Bear Hunt and Michael Rosen’s Chocolate Cake).

Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book will be at Theatre Royal Winchester from Tuesday 2 – Wednesday 3 April at various times. Recommended age: 3+. For more information or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
