Southampton listings guide 7- 13 March

It’s that time of the week again when the listings guide for the next seven days is published and you can find something to tempt you out of the house. From covers bands via theatre to an evening with an actual astronaut, there’s a wide range of options, as ever, so hopefully you can find something to get you out and about and enjoying some of what Southampton has to offer.

There are loads of venues in and around Southampton, large and small, to find live music to suit your tastes. Amongst this week’s gigs are Bullet for my Valentine at Southampton Guildhall, Vunvabar at The Joiners, Dave Kelly & Bob Hall with Hilary Blythe at Theatre Royal Winchester (click here) and The John Ireland Prize Event at Turner Sims.

On stage this week, there’s Dada Masilo’s The Sacrifice at The Mayflower tonight and tomorrow (7 – 8 March) for more information click here and look out for a review. It’s International Women’s Day on March 8, and to mark the day, Theatre Royal Winchester has one-woman show A Room of One’s Own (pictured top) playing for one night only (click here for more information).

If you have a green thumb, or even if you don’t, why not head to Southampton Seed Swap at The Art House on the 12th (click here for more)? You can swap and buy seeds and there will also be plants for sale.

March 11 is the day of a national demonstration in support of the NHS in London – a coach is taking protesters from Southampton. Click the link to find out more and how to check if spaces are available.
